Right arm of a discus-thrower statuette. It preserves the biggest part of the arm, the whole forearm and hand that holds the discus. On the hand’s back side the fingers that clutch the discus have been carefully rendered. The slightly bent elbow shows that the athlete was poised at the moment he was about to fling the discus. The statuette was dedicated at the Sanctuary of Athena on the Akropolis by an athlete possibly right after he won a discus contest.
